2014: The response to the Radio George Christmas Channels over the past couple of years has been simply remarkable. Many listeners have asked for another traditional Christmas music channel, and it's been more of a challenge than you might think.

You don't want to add "filler" songs that were thrown together for a big-name singer simply to have something to sell, and for traditional Christmas songs, you have to stick to standard arrangements, perhaps modified a bit with some small, but great musical twists to suit a singer's unique style. Tough enough for you?

How do you search for such music? A BIG flea market type of place can sometimes present ideas, or in the best case scenario, the music itself. In such a case, the music is usually buried on an old vinyl LP or  perhaps  more recent CDs that someone just didn't want anymore. To make a long story short, I sensed that the American Classics Marketplace, which I had spotted on a trip to Colorado Springs, might be a good candidate for a search and visited there in September of 2014.

JACKPOT! I found a large number of vinyl LPs and more recent CDs with a lot of Christmas music that looked like it might work for another traditional channel. I grabbed them all and brought them to the Radio George studios to audition and then electronically "clean up" clicks and scratches and pops as needed. Many of the selections were lousy or fell into the "songs that no one ever heard of" category, fillers to complete an album. But there were enough traditional Christmas ones to put together this new channel that I hope you'll like. The more contemporary singers complement the more seasoned ones surprisingly well.

Happy listening!
