Radio George Video Jukebox

Imagine a machine that uses farm machinery components and a lot of human ingenuity to produce precise, melodic music!

That's what an email from a friend presented, along with this information::

This incredible machine was built as a collaborative effort between the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa.

Amazingly, 97% of the machines components came from John Deere Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft, Iowa-- yes, farm equipment!

It took the team a combined 13,029 hours of set-up, alignment,
calibration, and tuning before filming this video, but as you can see it was WELL worth the effort.

It is now on display in the Matthew Gerhard Alumni Hall at the
University and is already slated to be donated to the Smithsonian.

Only problem is, IT AIN'T TRUE! It is an urban legend that's still making the rounds on the Internet after three+ years.

Neither of the University of Iowa branches exist. This is an example of a computer-animated music video produced by Animusic, a content creation company located in Ithaca, NY.

So why is Radio George presenting it here? Simply because it is really a compelling, entertaining piece of work. Go ahead, enjoy it and tell and/or email your friends about it---BUT send them the URL to this page, for not only the whole REAL story, but also for the complete version. The one that's been making most of the rounds on the Internet is an edited version. Here's the complete one for your enjoyment.

While it's been called Fantastic Machine, the real name of the work is Pipe Dream. Scroll down the page a bit and enjoy it.
